Because I Can, Mitt!

A brilliant idea from much colder climes, these are hugely popular all across Scandinavia! Can Holder Mitts are a must for anyone who has ever held a cold can or bottle while standing outside on a very cold night! (They also work really well holding hot coffee from your favorite coffee shop!) And, you don’t have to “hold” the can! The mitts do it for you.

Please Note: The patterns for these Mitts are intended to be worked in Chunky/Bulky weight yarns that call for a size 10 or 10 1/2 needle.

There are 2 different patterns included here.

The Simple Mitt is a very fast knit worked with a ribbed cuff and a stockinette body. This is the traditional Can Mitt, but with a twist, your thumb can actually hold the can unlike traditional Can Mitts!

The Cabled Mitt has a ribbed cuff and a cabled body.

Both mitts also have patterns for a matching mitt, assuming you’d like something on the hand that’s not holding the can!
